All About Us

Organisation Background:

Kuumba Arts Movement (KAM) has been running for 9 years. We are essentially a creative community organisation working with young people from our local community and within other areas around Wolverhampton. We use the creative and performing arts to help empower young people and allow them to express themselves looking at issues that affect them in a more creative way. KAM is committed to encouraging children to explore the creative arts through drama, dance, movement, music, singing, sound, film, poetry, writing and backstage duties. The children who attend gain many lifelong skills such as Self Confidence, Self Esteem, Team building, Peer Mentoring, Communication, Public Speaking, and an in-depth look in the world of theatre. All staff are professionally trained within Theatre, TV & Film and are CRB checked.

Epic Documentary Premiere

Posted by Tonia Campbell on June 21, 2012 at 12:08 0 Comments

Tuesday 19th June 2012 was a great evening for Epic Youth Cafe Members as they were starring in a documentary looking at issues that face young people in Wolverhampton today. The film was very well received with parents and members of staff in attendance. The young people want their voices to be heard and this is a great way for the public to hear and listen. Please leave your comments and feedback on the documentary if you attended the event.
